Canada has a growing problem with carbon emissions from medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. At the national level, total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are declining. In 2008, Canada’s gas annual GHG emissions decreased by 2.1 percent, contributing to a five year average decrease of 0.8 percent.1 However, within the transportation sector, emissions continue to rise.
